If you could write a book about anything, what would it be about?
I'm working right now on a coming-of-age tale set in a small town, but if I knew I could write a good book about anything-- like, it would be a classic piece of literature-- I'd love to do a western. All the best novels I've read have been westerns. They're so epic, and they have a sweeping adventure and romance to them that most other genres lack. I don't know if I'd be any good at it, but if I knew it would come out well, I'd give it a try.
What song or lyrics are stuck in your head at the moment? What album is it from?

I keep my head up tight
I know my plans at night
And I don't sleep I don't sleep I don't sleep 'til it's light...

What movie would you really recommend renting or seeing this weekend?
"Lonesome Dove". This is, honestly, one of the greatest movies ever made. It has a little bit of everything: action, suspense, heartache, adventure, comedy, heroism, and possibly the most moving love story ever penned. Tell me there has ever been anything that touched Gus and Lorie. YOU CAN'T, BECAUSE THERE ISN'T.
I'm sorry for being belligerent.
You should totally rent it. Now. And even if you don't like westerns, you'll like this. It starts off a little slow, but give it a half hour and I promise you'll want to watch the entire thing to conclusion. The acting, the plot, the characters-- perfection.
It's almost 1 in the morning, and I have it sitting in the living room, and I'm going to watch it right now. And if it's good enough for me to give up my warm bed at 1 in the morning, you know it has to be awesome.
What's the nerdiest thing about you?
This is going to be awesome.
There's too many to chose from. I like Star Trek TNG. Like, I used to love it and dream I was going to marry Riker. I'd get the fan novels from the library. The whole nine. I was the one who invented emo glasses. I'm calling that one, because I got mine back ten years ago and everyone thought they were the ugliest things, and who would ever wear thick, black-frammed glasses on purpose? Now everyone has them, so I retired mine. Sad; because I loved wearing them while I drank Jolt and played Diablo at a LAN parties. I OWN THIS NERD THING.
Nerdiest, though, hands down, is that I find other nerds more attractive than stereotypically hot people. I like the awkward engineer types. Steve Carell in "The 40 Year Old Virgin"-- at the beginning, before he changed-- was perfect. Movie crush.
What albums are in heavy rotation for you right now?
I'm not really listening to anything heavily. If I have my headphones on, it's usually a bit of Artic Monkeys and Wolf Parade. Wolf Parade especially.
